DONALD TRUMP'S CONTROVERSIAL PRESS CONFERENCE ABOUT ALLEGED RUSSIAN LEAKS

Madrid, January 2017.-

Antonio Camuñas analysed President Trump's first press conference given by him in over six months and just a week after his inauguration; a press conference that turned out to be particularly controversial owing to the revelations made the previous day to the effect that the Trump team had been in contact with Russia, all within a context of certain inappropriate incidents.

On the television programme 'El Gato al Agua' aired by Intereconomía, the Chairman of Global Strategies pointed out that "The Western media is being extremely irresponsible by affording credibility to groundless information".

He further stated that, "In this entertainment society in which we live we are so distracted by reports such as these that we are losing sight of reality". "All serious countries try to influence the elections of other countries. Whoever is trying to dress this up as something apocalyptic is just being ridiculous".

Antonio Camuñas says he is not in favour of Donald Trump's protectionist measures. “History shows that only free trade and economic openness have brought progress”.

Note: A few days after the press conference the Head of the US Intelligence Services, James Clapper, (in charge of the 19 intelligence agencies that operate in the USA) publicly apologised to Trump for the disclosure of information that turned out to be false.
