HISPANIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA GALA IN NEW YORK
Madrid, October 2016.-
The tenor and conductor Plácido Domingo, the American ambassador to Spain James Costos, the collector Álvaro Conde Díaz-Rubín and the designer Michael Smith were honoured on 7 October last by the Hispanic Society of America for their contribution to Hispanic art and culture.
At a gala attended by a who's who of the city's Hispanic society at the hundred-year-old Metropolitan Club in New York, the four personalities received the Sorolla Medal which has been awarded since 1924 by this New York institution.
